TaxonImprint
TaxonImprint is an evidentiary metadata system designed to provide a concise, machine readable representation of the scientific evidence used in species level taxonomy.
It defines a structured set of domains and tokens that map directly to the evidentiary components of a taxonomic act, allowing consistent extraction, comparison, and interoperability across studies, archives, and digital platforms.
Purpose
The objective of TaxonImprint is to capture the evidentiary basis of taxonomic work including morphology, imagery, genetics, phylogeny, type material, and other analytical domains in a reproducible and transparent way. The system is suitable for both manual coding and AI assisted extraction.
Status
TaxonImprint v1.5 is released as a beta. The full technical description of the schema will be published in the inaugural issue of Eikoniki Taxonomy.
