TaxonImprint v1.5 (Beta)

TaxonImprint v1.5 is the first public beta release of the evidentiary metadata system used in Eikoniki Taxonomy. This release provides access to the extraction script, token lexicon, and supporting materials for testing and evaluation ahead of the full technical publication.

Reproducibility

Users are encouraged to apply the extraction script to any species level taxonomic paper of their choice. This release does not include example extractions, as these would necessarily reproduce copyrighted material. The reproducibility of the protocol can therefore be tested independently on manuscripts selected by the user.

The system is designed to operate on any modern species level taxonomic work that contains an explicit taxonomic act such as a description, diagnosis, redescription, or delimitation. This allows users to validate the method on material relevant to their own research area.

About the Beta Release

The beta release contains the domain structure, token definitions, boundary notes, and the strict extraction protocol used for both manual and AI assisted evidence mapping. Minor refinements may be made as user feedback is incorporated. All updates will be version controlled.

Using the Extraction Protocol

The extraction script is designed for deterministic, zero inference extraction of evidentiary metadata from species level taxonomic works. Users may follow the protocol directly or apply it through a large language model.

The general workflow is:

• Select a species level taxonomic paper.

• Apply the extraction script manually or through an LLM.

• Record only evidence explicitly used to support a species level conclusion.

• Summarise evidence using the domain.token format.

Core Principle

Evidence is recorded only when explicitly used in a species level conclusion. Inference is not permitted.
